John Morrell, CEO

John is an accomplished leader with a track record of successfully growing businesses. His strong operational background will serve Best Vinyl well in the continued expansion and improvement of Best Vinyl. From 1999 to 2005 John was the CEO of Gregg Gift Company, which grew to become a leader in the inspirational giftware market. During his tenure, John led the company to a doubling of revenues. To Best Vinyl, John brings nearly 40 years of experience leading manufacturing, distribution and service companies, including several years as President or CEO of various businesses in the building products industry. John is a veteran CEO that has experience covering a broad range of corporate functions. He is well equipped to drive strategic development and direction and will also be very hands-on in optimizing day-to-day operations. Prior to his previous role as CEO of Gregg Gift Company, John spent over two decades as CEO or in senior executive positions at Westburne Supply, Inc., Wycoff Company, Inc., and Purolator Services, Inc. Most recently, John served as CEO of two other businesses on behalf of an investment firm.

Vance Barrett, Founder and President

The founder of Best Vinyl, Vance has an in-depth understanding of the vinyl fencing industry. He began installing vinyl fencing in the late 1990’s as an independent contractor and during this period perfected the installation process. As an installer, Vance utilized new, innovative techniques that allowed him to install more efficiently and accurately. He continues to train Best Vinyl installers in these superior installation practices. Vance was recognized in 2007 as a finalist at the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year recognition event and also in the Utah Valley Magazine as one of the “top 40 (entrepreneurs) under 40” in Utah County.

Brandon Brooks, Vice President Sales and Marketing

Joining the Best Vinyl team in December of 2002, Brandon has played a key role in helping Best Vinyl achieve growth objectives and maintain customer loyalty through brand name recognition. Brandon has helped implement sales systems that have brought double digit growth to Best Vinyl every year for last 5 years. Brandon brings a wealth of business knowledge to Best Vinyl. As a recipient of a Masters of Business Administration degree, Brandon understands how the different disciplines of business affect the overall success of Best Vinyl.

Brian Hobbs, CFO

With over 20 years of international business experience, Brian has held executive level positions in both public and privately held firms specializing in consumer products and services. Brian is considered an expert in consumer-centric approaches to gaining market share, exposing and acting upon hidden costs and growth opportunities, as well as TQM (Six Sigma) and Metrics Driven Management.

Most recently Brian served as senior financial executive and senior advisor to the President for Lane Furniture Industries where he identified significant opportunities for profit and working capital improvement. Lane is currently the most profitable business unit owned by Furniture Brands Int’l (FBN).

Brian has extensive consumer product turnaround and startup success. He commercialized the Bassford brand of home game-room products via a national network of specialty retailers and Costco.com. As president and CEO, he drove design, commercialization and go-to-market strategies, which resulted in Bassford becoming one of the fastest growing competitors in the industry. Prior to Bassford, Mr. Hobbs was President of Caldera Spas & Baths, an international manufacturer of hot tubs/spas and bathtubs, where he led the revitalization and sale of the business to MASCO.

As Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at Bell Atlantic Corporation (Verizon), Brian was responsible for business review, valuation, negotiation, and management of domestic and international merger and divestiture activities. He was also the senior financial executive of Devon Systems International (acquired by SunGard Data Systems), where he was responsible for worldwide finance and accounting functions. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Philadelphia.

Mr. Hobbs earned his undergraduate degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, where he was a recipient of The Royal H. Gibson Scholarship Award. He received his M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
